Bamboo is not a tree rather it is a woody grass and one of the fastest growing plants on the planet.

In countries where it is grown successfully Bamboo has been used extensively for scaffolding and construction. It has proved over centuries to be an immensely strong and resilient material. Tests have revealed that a natural composite of lignin and cellulose provides Bamboo with a high bearing capacity and a tensile strength comparable to steel.

There are approximately 1000 species of Bamboo. All with different properties and strengths. We hand select the species used for each piece to ensure the best result and finish. Before we even think about starting work with our Bamboo poles they are boiled and kiln dried to ensure long term strength and durability from that point forward.

None of the species we work with are used for food by the panda bear.
