Bamboo is not a tree rather it is a woody grass and one of the fastest growing plants on the planet.
In countries where it is grown successfully Bamboo has been used extensively for scaffolding and construction. It has proved itself over centuries to be immensely strong and resilient to extreme weather forms. Tests have revealed that a natural composite of lignin and cellulose provides Bamboo with a high bearing capacity and a tensile strength comparable to steel.
There are approximately 2000 species of Bamboo. All with different properties and strengths. We hand select the species used for each piece to ensure the optimum strength and finish. None of the species we work with are used for food by the panda bear.
Before we even think about working with our Bamboo it is boiled and kiln dried to ensure long term strength and termite resistance from that point forward.
